In this discussion, you will explore the benefits and challenges of leading a team. In addition, you will discuss the challenges for team members when there is conflict in a team. You will explore the benefits and challenges of having a diverse team and identify strategies to lead diverse teams. Finally, you will evaluate the key elements required to lead an effective team.

Prior to attempting this discussion forum,

·         Read Chapter 4 in Leadership for Today and the Future.

·         Use the questionnaire to formulate your answers: Assessment 4.1: What Has Been Your Experience With Teams? Download Assessment 4.1: What Has Been Your Experience With Teams?

·         Find at least one resource to support your statements in this discussion. You may want to refer to the Scholarly, Peer-Reviewed, and Other Credible Sources (Links to an external site.) table from the UAGC Writing Center to identify appropriate academic resources.

In your initial discussion forum post,

·         Describe your experience with teams.

·         Identify the steps that you would take to prepare to lead a team.

·         Discuss strategies you would implement to increase a team’s performance based on your experience.

·         Identify two sources of challenges and how you as a leader might address them.

·         Discuss what actions you can take as a leader to demonstrate your interest in diversity that goes beyond rhetoric.

·         Explain what steps you can take to further prepare yourself to become a multicultural leader.
