Instructions

All providers are required to have a unique National Provider Identification number that is used to identify the provider in numerical form. The NPI number is used for submitting claims and referrals.

To Complete Your Assignment

Please access and complete the NPI application at National Plan and Provider Enumeration System (NPPES) to secure an NPI number. Some facts about NPI numbers include:

  • You will register as an individual.
  • You can register at any level as a nursing service provider, for example, as an RN.
  • The NPI number you are assigned will follow you as an APRN.
  • You will need to use a home address at first and then change it after you have a practice address. Alternatively, you can use the Regis College address for the purpose of this assignment.

Submit your NPI number in a Word document and place it in the file picker. Also, add your NPI number to your Individual Professional Practice Document (IPPD).

Please refer to the Grading Rubric for details on how this activity will be graded.

For this assignment to be considered complete, you must submit the NPI number to the DropBox for this assignment and add it to your IPPD by Day 7.
