1: Using Adobe Illustrator CC
The very first thing you should do this week
is download and install Adobe Illustrator CC. Review the instructions in the
Lab section of the Course Resources page (located under the Introduction & Resources
module).
If you do not have an Adobe Creative Cloud
account, you will need to activate the account provided to you for this
course. Follow the instructions in the Lab section of the Course
Resources page for activating Adobe Creative Cloud. Adobe Illustrator CC is one of the programs
available for you to install after you have first installed the Adobe Creative
Cloud desktop manager and activated your account.
Once you have activated your account, open Adobe Creative Cloud
on your computer and log in. Click on Apps and select Illustrator CC to begin
the download. Please note, this process of downloading and installing may take
up to an hour, so do this as soon as possible.
When you have successfully installed the application, record a
short presentation showcasing one of the tools or features available in
Illustrator that you found particularly of interest. You may use
screen-recording software of your choosing.
The presentation should: (a) highlight one tool or feature and
(b) demonstrate an example of its use, and (c) (optional) show how you might
use it in your future Course Project (see the Course Project Overview page
under Introduction & Resources).
It is recommended to post your presentation by
Wednesday 11:59pm MT. After that, return and provide detailed feedback to at
least one of your peers and continue to discuss one or more of the tools you
explored in Illustrator this week.
