Research the Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health Act (HITECH).

·         Identify potential barriers hospitals and physicians may encounter, as well as the expected benefits.

·         Pay attention to the measurements collected to verify the criteria has been met.

·         Identify at least two (2) hospitals or physician practices that have attested (legally state) that they can demonstrate meaningful use with a certified EHR (Electronic Health Record) technology.

o    Highlight the barriers they had to overcome to reach this level of certification and whether they have realized the published benefits.

                        Decide whether you are a supporter of the law to force the adoption of EHRs or whether you support the challengers, who indicate the law creates more risk to patients.

o    Summarize your position, highlighting the key reasons why you are for or against the forced mandate.

o    Compare your reasons against those given by your opposition.

o    Contrast the risks highlighted by each side of the issue.

Requirements:
