Sexual Consent Contracts
The purpose of this assignment is to teach others how to ask for
and give sexual consent to potential sexual partners.
Instructions:
Content

Create a sexual
consent infomercial that teaches high school students how to request and give consent.
·
Consider:
o What consent must include
o The best language choices for requesting and
giving consent.
o What you want to ask or give consent to/for.
The more specific, the better. (examples: only kissing, kissing, petting and
oral sex, one time consent to sexual intercourse).
o How one should respond if they do not receive
the answer they want.
·
Your presentation
should include an introduction, 2-3 steps or tips and a conclusion.
·
You must cite at
least 2 interpersonal communication resources to help support
your ideas. (Our resource list is a great place to start.)
·
Audience members
should be able to implement each step.
·
Record your speech
using your cell phone using an extemporaneous, conversational speaking style.
·
Consider the visual,
vocal and verbal elements of your presentation.
Video
2 minutes in length.

o Keep your message nice and tight. The more you
practice, the more fluid your message with me.

Substantive feedback
includes:
o Verbal feedback - The oral content of the message.
Consider the information included in the message. Is it accurate? Is it
factual? Does the evidence support the claims?
o Vocal feedback - The verbal delivery of the message.
Consider the tone and the performative characteristics. Is the speaker
effective? appealing? persuasive?
o Visual feedback - The non-verbal and visual aspects of
the message. Both for the video and the visual aid.
