MA 171 Week 1 Discussion | Park University | Assignment Help
Unit 1: Discussion
In Units 1-8, you will
participate in Concept Question discussions. In each unit, you will be
answering a concept question related to the unit content and responding to one
of your classmate's answers with a thoughtful, math concept focused posting.
Directions
For each unit
discussion:
1.
Initial Post (7 Points)
1.
Read through the answer postings and responses already posted
by classmates.
2.
Choose one and only one question not previously answered.
1.
Once a question has been answered it is no longer eligible for
you to answer, and will not
earn you any points should you post an answer to it.
2.
Once you choose a question, you must answer it at that
time. Questions cannot
be reserved for answering at a later time. Should two students work simultaneously
on the same question, and post answers within minutes of each other, the second
answer posted can be considered as that student's response posting.
Another question will need to be chosen and answered by that student in
order to earn answer points. I will allow you to answer two questions instead
of providing a response to someone’s question if you so choose.
3.
Format the your response post as follows:
1.
Put the question number at the very beginning of the SUBJECT
LINE of your answer post.
2.
Type (or copy and paste) the question as your first line(s) of
your answer post.
3.
Begin typing your answer after the question.
Example:
#5 Give two examples
of a linear equation and show the steps on how to solve each one.
3x+7=9 -8x=14+2x
Finish answering the
question….
You may copy and paste
your question from the list. If you do, make sure you make adjustments for any
symbols that do not paste as seen in the question. (x2 – 1 from the
list will paste as x2 -1, so it must be adjusted to read as x^2 - 1. The
"^" symbol is the most common way to identify the exponent.)
1.
Response Posts (3 Points)
1.
Respond to one of your classmate's answers with a thoughtful,
math concept focused posting meeting the criteria described below. (Only one response posting is eligible
for earning points per unit, but you may respond to as many postings as you
like.)
2.
Respond with at least two complete concept focused sentences.
3.
Respond to incorrect or incomplete answers as well as the
correct ones, tactfully completing the answer or presenting what you believe to
be the correct answer.
