9.1 Discussion - The Big Short - B 1

This week’s threaded discussion will involve viewing the movie “The Big Short”. This is a very good movie about the 2008 financial crisis and with your improved financial knowledge, developed over the past 8 weeks, you will be able to appreciate exactly what is going on in the movie .It can be rented inexpensively from various online movie sites. Please plan to watch the movie sometime during the week and take notes as to the sequence of events and the financial transactions involving mortgage backed securities, CDOs, short selling and credit default swaps. You should note that this is a “R” rated  movie that contains adult content with foul language and some brief nudity so do not sit down with your young children to watch it. If you would prefer not to watch the movie due to its adult content, please contact me by email and we will develop another assignment for you.
