Let's Debate: Should the U.S. create a mandatory mask law?

As you've seen from reading Chapter 1 Law as a Foundation for Business Law laws change as society has changed.  What's changed our world drastically?  The coronavirus has changed the way we work, learn, and interact with people.

Question:  Should the U.S. create a law requiring everyone to wear face coverings?

As countries around the world reopen their economies amid ongoing novel coronavirus (Links to an external site.) outbreaks, governments are increasingly embracing what remains in some places a divisive public health measure: mandatory masks.

In France, face coverings are required in all public enclosed spaces. 1)  Should the United States enact this legislation? Why or Why not? Research 

2)  What should be the penalty for those who do not wear the mask?

3)  If you argue that the U.S. should create a nationwide mandatory mask law, why? (Use the reasons below)  If you argue that the government, also argue why not, using the graph below.

4)  What's more important, your personal freedom or the health of its citizens?
