Lesson 5 Discussion: Jovian Planets, Moons, and Pluto
Select the Lesson 5 Discussion link above to participate in
this discussion.
·
In this discussion, we leave the
comfortable confines of the inner solar system and venture out beyond Mars and
the asteroid belt. The asteroid belt is the demarcation line that separates the
terrestrial planets from the solar system’s most massive planets; the Jovian
Giants with their beautiful ring systems and their numerous moons. Beyond
the gas giants sit poor Pluto; sulking in its demotion from planetary
status to that of a dwarf planet.
Answer at least one of the two discussion questions by the midpoint of
the lesson (Wednesday for a one-week lesson and Saturday for a two-week
lesson) and respond to at least two of your peers, or the instructor
follows up posts, in either thread no later than the last Sunday of
the lesson.
You will get a maximum of 15 points for your initial
discussion answer to Q1 or Q2 (choose 1) and a maximum
of 5 points for each substantive reply to other learners for a total
of 25 points total for each lesson discussion.
