This term, you have read, viewed, and discussed a number of technological advances and issues, from the way digital technology has changed the way we think and find spouses to problems like the loss of privacy and companies selling our data.

Select a topic that you did not address in your multimedia presentation and explain what you believe our future holds. Some possibilities might be driverless cars, automation of many minimum-wage jobs, the Internet of Things, cyber-attacks on infrastructure, drones, voice control (including but not limited to Siri, Alexis, etc.), big data, GIS, personalized learning, 5G, the dark web, even marketplaces like Amazon and Alibaba.

Other possibilities and an example of charting the consequences of the technology

When we discussed online dating, one of the impacts of the practice was that because we are meeting people who are often not in our typical circle of friends or colleagues, interracial marriages are increasing. What kind of impact do you see coming from the topic you have chosen, and how do you think that will happen? Think it through as completely as you can.

Example: Logically explain how computerized payments may impact the number of minimumwage jobs at fast-food restaurants and supermarkets. What will change in society when we have fewer entry-level jobs even as the world’s population increases?
