world is literally at our fingertips. A few quick clicks of a keyboard and we
are instantly met with seemingly endless resources. What are some of your
strategies for conducting responsible research in the digital age?
To help support your answer, provide two examples of websites ending in
.com, .org, .edu, or .gov. Begin by selecting a broad and debatable topic
(examples may include key themes from local or global politics, contemporary
social movements, or controversial incidents). Next, conduct a brief Internet
search using your selected topic and pick two sources of information. These
should represent two different website classifications. Finally, consider your
two selections. How are the sites similar? How are they different? Use the
information literacy skills you have developed in previous weeks of this course
to assess the validity of your selected websites and to provide a value
judgement of the sources.
