Weekly Experiment and Discussion - Part 1 - Due by Day 3


Step 1: Using Minitab, create 50 samples of size 30 from a standard normal distribution.
Step 2: Use the Display Descriptive Statistics function to run the mean, standard deviation, median, skewness, and kurtosis ONLY (do all 50 columns at once)
Step 3: Copy the Display Descriptive Statistics output into the clipboard
Step 4: Open a new Minitab worksheet
Step 5: Paste the Display Descriptive Statistics output into the new worksheet
Step 6: Save the Minitab Worksheet & Post it as a response to this thread

Weekly Experiment and Discussion - Part 2 - Due by Day 5

Using the data you created & submitted for Day 3:
1) Run a graphical summary on all 5 columns: ( Stat > Basic Statistics > Graphical Summary)
2) Do all five histograms appear reasonably bell-shaped? ( If not, which ones do not. Also, list their corresponding p-value from the Anderson-Darling Normality Test section with the item)
3) Which is smaller, the standard deviation of the sample means or the standard deviation of the sample medians?
4) How close is the standard deviation of the sample means to 1/sqrt(30)?
5) Save and post the Minitab Project file containing the graphical summaries
