MKTG 211 Week 2 Discussion Choose one of the questions below and submit your answer to the discussion board using the appropriate discussion thread (you are welcome to answer both questions, but only the first answer posted will count toward credit for this assignment). Post two replies to answers posted by other students in class. Each reply must meet the quality criteria shown in the DQ & Class Participation Grading Rubric (the link to this rubric is located under the Syllabus tab on the left toolbar). 1. Visit the following web site: http://www.strategicbusinessinsights.com/vals/presurvey.shtml. Select "Take the Survey" and then complete the survey to determine your consumer behavior characteristics. 1. Which primary category do you fall into? How about secondary? 2. Do you agree with the categories that you were put into? Why/Why not? {Do not just provide definitions of the categories. Provide an analysis regarding how you relate/do not relate to the information provided.} 3. How do you think marketers could use this information? Give an example. Would this information help you in determining your target markets for the Marketing Plan? 2. Choose a specific product (Kellogg's Frosted Flakes, Dr. Pepper, Tide, etc.). Using the five steps of the Consumer Decision-Making Process found in the textbook, discuss how a consumer might choose to purchase your chosen product. Make sure to clearly identify the product you are choosing to examine and, starting with need recognition, go through each step in the decision-making process from the consumer's point-of-view. You are welcome to use yourself as an example by evaluating how you would make a purchase decision for this product (using a product you have actually purchased works best).
