HUMN 220 Week 5 Assignment 1 :Analyze Fallacious Appeals

Purpose
To assess your ability to:
•	Identify the fallacies of Misdirected Appeals and Emotional Appeals
•	Examine and analyze common fallacious appeals

Action Items
1.	Carefully read the Key Points in Week 5 Overview.
2.	Use internet, newspaper, or magazine sources to locate appropriate examples that present 6 types of fallacious appeals. The example could be a verbal expression, a cartoon, an article, or an advertisement. You should collect 6 different examples. As an alternative, you may also construct your own arguments.
3.	Write out the forms first, then your analysis and reasoning. (Hint: The web sites listed in Exercises on Fallacious Appeals, provide excellent reasoning and analysis.)
4.	Provide a copy of the examples you found. You will need to attach your examples with your Word document. You may use any of the following methods to attach your examples:
•         copy and paste what you found over the Internet to your Word document.
•         use Print Screen (PrtSc button) to take a screen shot of the example and then copy to your Word document.
•         scan the example as an image file (file extension needs to be .jpg), and insert the image in your Word document.
5.	Be sure to include the references in APA style in your Word document.
