HIS 125 Module 4 Discussion
Remember the 1990s when the U.S. was hailed -- or perhaps more accurately, Washington hailed itself --not just as the planet's "sole superpower" or even its unique "hyperpower," but as its "global policeman," the only cop on the block.
America garrisons the globe in ways that are truly unprecedented …. (Engelhardt, 2008).
In our short period of history as a nation compared to hundreds of years of history among other countries, the US has managed to amass 761 military bases around the world.
Looming comments from many suggest that the US should not continue to interfere with the internal affairs of other countries and discard its military presence in many countries worldwide.
Given this statement, what do you think the world would be like if America withdrew not all, but a considerable amount of its military presence from around the world? Be specific.
