Confidence Intervals and Hypothesis Test

Some statisticians have argued that hypothesis tests of means and proportions should be taken out of the introductory statistics course because confidence intervals are much more important and useful in practice. They even argue that in practice one should almost always do a confidence interval instead of a hypothesis test. Discuss the relationship between confidence intervals and hypothesis tests and whether the idea of not teaching hypothesis tests has merit. Give one reason for including hypothesis tests, and one to exclude them. Which inference technique do you think will be most useful to you in your future?
