HIS 125 Module 1 Discussion
Natural Selection Technology and Environment
It's not all bad news. Many animal and plant species have adapted to the new stresses, food sources, predators and threats in urban and suburban environments, where they thrive in close proximity to humans. Their success provides researchers with valuable—and sometimes unexpected—insights into evolutionary and selective processes. Because these adaptations [happened rapidly], cities are, in some respects, ideal laboratories for studying natural selection (Hunter, 2007).
We are still attempting to find ways to adapt to our environment by studying natural disaster predictions, and ways to combat what might happen in the future- energy, global warming theory, etc.
We have evolved trying to find ways to beat "Mother Nature," so to speak, by working on creating our own form of selection through technology and science -- the selection of people by intelligence and other traits.

 QUESTIONS
1.What do you think history will tell us in the future about natural selection, especially how different living environments would be created to live outside our planet.
2.What traits would you select of humans to occupy another planet?
