Central Banks

400-600 w/ references APA format In a recent article in The Economist on central banks, it is argued that after the financial crisis of 2008, the central banks lost some of their respectability, but instead of taking responsibilities away, the government is expanding their roles and responsibilities. Describe the role of the central banks of the UK, the Euro zone, Spain, the United States, Singapore, Japan, and Brazil. Then, discuss the following: How does their control of short-term interest rates affect foreign exchange and fiscal policy? Do you think that, along with their policies to reduce inflation and unemployment, they should be involved in supervising banks? Should central banks be independent of government?
