Over the last few months of your internship at Club IT, you have learned much about the nightclub business and have discovered opportunities for Club IT to improve its information technology capabilities. Ruben and Lisa have asked you to meet with them next week to provide an assessment of their current information systems and a recommendation for upgrading and improving their information management capabilities. You have some definite ideas on how IT could be improved at Club IT, and you also realize it takes thorough analysis and planning to be successful.
You have interviewed Ruben and the rest of the staff at Club IT and have compiled the following notes:
Club IT- customers are mostly net generation and millennials. They regularly use mobile technologies such as Blackberrys, PDAs, camera phones, and other wireless communication devices. Online shopping is a regular part of their lives.
Few nightclubs have taken advantage of various e-commerce activities, and Ruben sees this as an opportunity to gain a competitive advantage in dealing with suppliers and guests. Ruben asks you to identify some new e-commerce technologies and applications to help build Club IT- clientele and community, and to make their business processes more efficient.
Currently, Club IT sells advance tickets to its special Friday and Saturday night concerts by phone or in person. Ruben wants to set up a Web site to sell tickets, so guests may have unlimited self-service access.
Opportunities exist for streamlining the ordering process through B2B ecommerce. Sysco, for example, is a major restaurant supplier in North America, which has an extensive Web site (http://www.sysco.com/customer/order_entry.asp) with many online products and services for small and large food and beverage operations.
Using the information you have gathered from your review of the Club IT Web site and interviews with Ruben and the staff, evaluate the IT status of the business.
•	Prepare a 700- to 1050-word essay identifying three business problems that you see at Club IT.
o	Evaluate Club IT- resources, customers, and supply chain.
o	Define three IT solutions to resolve the three problems.
o	Incorporate enterprise resource planning (ERP), customer relationship management (CRM), and supply chain management (SCM) software into your solutions.
o	Discuss how the various departments within Club IT may use your solutions.
•	Include an introduction and a conclusion, clearly identify three business problems, and provide detailed solutions for the three problems.
•	Format your essay according to APA standards.

Assignments

•	Individual Assignment - Club IT, Part Three

From your perspective as an outsider, Club IT seems successful to you. The club is busy in the evenings, the people are eating, drinking, and having fun—the staff is congenial and hard-working. Although, on the financial side, Lisa and Ruben would prefer to see the business earn more profits and possibly open a second Club IT.
Ruben would like to proceed by implementing an inventory system that communicates directly with the supply chain: vendors, distributors, and shippers. Ruben believes that the most difficult part of this project is at the beginning—identifying the requirements of an inventory system that meets the needs of the business.
Lisa is considering a wireless order-taking system, and she has asked you to do a cost analysis of acquiring it. Consider the following information in your analysis:
The acquisition cost is $35,000 paid at the time of installation.
It reduces the wait staff by one person: Figure $10 per hour, or 2020 hours per year + 18% benefits.
Money costs are 7% (income on investment you would receive if you did nothing)
The system may become obsolete in three years.

Prepare a 4- to 7-slide PowerPoint® presentation addressing the following:
Identify the ROI and NPV of the wireless order-taking system. Discuss some of the intangibles Lisa needs to consider and make a recommendation as to whether Lisa should order such a system.
Research some executive dashboard products, identify information that Lisa and Ruben would likely find useful presented in a dashboard, and how they would use the information. Make recommendations as to which product you would recommend for Club IT.
Chose one of the technology project development methodologies described in the readings and explain how you would go about the systems analysis effort. Identify what information is needed for whom, when, and in what format. Additionally, consider what major stakeholders you would interview, and how you would proceed to gather information to make an informed decision.
Provide a description of how you envision this project would proceed through the systems development lifecycle—what would happen in each phase?
The presentation must include detailed speaker- notes, which become the script of the oral presentation. The slides must include an appropriate slide background and additional graphics to highlight major points. Format your slides with bullets and use no more than seven sentences per slide.
