You have been invited to act as a management consultant to a specialty food manufacturing company. Previously, the company had served long-established customers whose needs it understood very well. However, the company is now entering new markets in which service flexibility and response to customer needs is crucial, with the new customers being far more discerning than the long-established ones. Currently, the company has a role culture. As you are required to advise on how a cultural change could be brought about that would allow the company to accommodate itself better to the demands of the new markets, you are required to do the following: 

(a) Discuss the importance of culture, in particular a role culture, for a company planning to enter new markets.

(b) Discuss any problems that you foresee in implementing a culture change.
