Assignment # 3:  Control Charts and Forecasting.   
 
 Prepare a 4-5 page double-spaced report with recommendations, and supporting rationale, on the following items: 
•	Select and research one of the three major U.S.  auto manufacturers (Ford, Chrysler, or GM) under the current economic restructuring. Give a brief synopsis of their current financial and competitive positions relative to the rest of the industry. 
•	Develop either a forecast (specify the estimation in unknown situations), or a control chart to determine whether their manufacturing or business process is in a state of statistical control or not. 
•	Describe why you chose your process, its potential benefits and the potential outcome for economic recovery. 
•	Provide recommendations for OM requirements to prevent future re-occurrence.
