Overview You are a Corporate Recruiter for Smith- Retail, Inc. that owns several pharmacies in the northeastern part of the U.S. Your Human Resources department just completed a Workforce Plan that assessed the company- talent needs for the next ten years. The numbers show that Smith- will need to find 25 new pharmacists each year for the next 10 years. You have been given the responsibility to develop a comprehensive sourcing plan for staffing this critical position. You have a four week deadline to research, prepare and present your plan to Smith- Vice President of Human Resources. Part One: Economic and Workforce Trends Week One Assignment (Due Thursday, Week 9/15) 5 Pts. A first step, as a Corporate Recruiter, is to understand the trends and market conditions that will impact your sourcing and selection efforts. Using what we’ve discussed about workforce and economic trends, as well as some additional research about the pharmacist market, answer the following 5 questions. Your answers are due in the Dropbox by midnight, March 19th. 1. What is the job outlook for pharmacists? 2. What trends are impacting the job outlook for pharmacists? 3. What are the education/license requirements to become a pharmacist? Is continuing education required? 4. What will Smith- Retail, Inc. expect to pay in salary to a new pharmacist graduate? 5. How will the trends and other information you have learned in your research impact your choices in recruiting / staffing strategies?
