Understanding E-mail and Website Scams
After visiting the Anti-Phishing Working Group website, summarize what resources and information it offers for first responders and consumers.
Then visit the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) website and read the article “How Not to Get Hooked by a “Phishing” Scam.” Summarize what the FTC recommends consumers do to avoid becoming a victim of a phishing scam.

Auction Fraud
Choose an internet auction website and report on the measures it has in place to prevent auction fraud. What protocols does it have in place for victims of auction fraud?
Then search for cases of fraud involving both phishing and auction website fraud. Select a case for each type of fraud and summarize them. Compare the technology used in both types of fraud, explain their similarities and differences, and explain how the technology was used to successfully commit fraud in your chosen cases. Lastly, explain how could the FTC recommendations and auction site measures you researched could have prevented this fraud in the cases you selected.
