Overview

The HRM professional, as a critical thinker, must ask difficult, carefully crafted, and clearly stated questions. HRM professionals are required to gather data and information, and in doing so they make assumptions and consider the organizational impacts. Consideration should be given to both intended and unintended organizational consequences.

Assignment Description

For this assignment, consider a situation in which a HR professional would be required to investigate an employee complaint that was filed with a federal government agency and involves organizational employment practices alleged to be out of compliance with regulatory guidance.

Present a plan to execute an investigation of events and actions that led to the violation, including the following:

  • Explain the laws or regulations that have been breached.
  • Describe any person who could be considered a victim of the violation.
  • Analyze the employee complaint and associated facts.
  • Recommend a course of action to resolve the violation. This could include disciplinary action, additional training, leadership counseling, or other corrective actions.

Submission Requirements

  • Written communication: Written communication is thoughtful and free of errors that detract from the overall message.
  • Format: Resources and citations are formatted according to current APA style and format.
  • References: Resources are useful and valuable for the assignment. There is no minimum number of resources.
  • Length: 2–3 typed, double-spaced pages.
  • Font and font size: Times New Roman, 12 point.
