CTS 155 Semester Project
For the CTS 155 semester projects, you will showcase the help desk support skills you learned throughout the semester. Also the projects are chances for you to demonstrate professionalism and content presented throughout the course.  The theme of the projectsisresearching a help desk support position and retaining the help desk support position.  The semester project is comprised of two parts:  Mid Term Project and a Final Project.  
Mid Term Project:  Due 9/28/14 @ 11:59pm
	Download the CTS 155 Mid Term ProjectMicrosoft Excel spreadsheet from Blackboard
	Locate three (3) open help desk support positions by performing a search via the internet
	Populate the spreadsheet with the following information: 
o	Position Name
o	Job Description
o	Salary/Rate of Pay
o	Education and Skillset Requirements
o	Website of Job Opening
o	Date Position Closes
	Save the Mid Term Project as YournameCTS 155Mid Term and upload it to the appropriate assignment link in Blackboard by the deadline
Final Project:  PowerPoint Presentation
	Create a PowerPoint presentation (at least 8 slides total - including title and reference slide),utilizing the results of the CTS 155 Mid Term Project research.Also, in the PowerPoint Presentation, demonstrate the skills and material covered throughout the semester in terms of helpdesk operations and support overall.

	Ensure at least five of the following topics are included in the presentation 
o	Requirements and skills to obtain and retain a helpdesk position 
o	Characteristics of a great and bad helpdesk employee 
o	Problems End Users Experience
o	Importance of Proper Ticket Tracking On a Helpdesk
o	10 Most Common Help Desk Support User Complaints
o	How to Land a Help Desk Support Position
o	Effective Communication on a Help Desk

In your PowerPoint presentation, you should have the following:
•	Create at least 8 slides (includes title and reference slide)
•	An appropriate design theme
•	Appropriate text formatting
•	Speaker notes(3 slides minimum)
•	Various slide layouts; at least 3 (i.e. not all Title and Content slides)
•	Animation and/or Transition, used appropriately
•	Clip Art/Photos, as needed, to provide illustration
•	Agenda Slide (with return links on corresponding slides)
•	Chart or table (not Clip Art)
•	Topic covered in adequate detail
•	Plan for three potential questions from the audience/instructor and type those in your speaker notes(seated and online class)
•	Rehearse your presentation with a friend or family member and type your ‘Practice Audience’ feedback in the speaker notes(seated only)
•	Spelling/Grammar checked
•	Professional formatting of presentation

	Name the Final Project as Yourname CTS 155 Final Project and upload it to the appropriate assignment link in Blackboard by the deadline

Presentation should be uploaded in Blackboard - Assigned by Instructor

Presentations will be delivered to the class - Assigned by Instructor(Seated class only)
