REL 133 Week 5 Assignment Help | University of Phoenix
Current Issues Presentation
This assignment is designed to help you
identify the relevance and importance in society today for a religious
tradition you would like to study further.
Choose one of the
religions discussed in this course. This course has looked at Eastern
religions, so make sure to choose one that was highlighted during one of the
weeks (i.e. Buddhism, Hinduism, Confucianism, etc.). Do not choose
a Western Religion (i.e. Christianity, Islam, Judaism, etc.), as we did not
study them in this course. If you choose a Western religion, you will receive
zero credit for this assignment. If you are unsure if your choice fits as a
primary religion we studied in this class, feel free to contact me before
starting the project.
Create a 15- to 20-slide
presentation to summarize the key ideas of the religion you have chosen.
Include the following:
- What are common characteristics your chosen
religion shares with the others?
- How is this religion responding to challenges
(e.g., the rise of critical and scientific methodologies) in the modern
world?
- What has changed about the roles of women in
the religion over time?
- Discuss eastern religion and contemporary
ethics.
Include a title slide and a
references slide, and any applicable images.
Use bulleted items on the
slides and more extensive materials in the speaker notes. Using speaker
notes is a requirement on a project of this size. Make sure to have extensive
notes so that I can know exactly what you would say if you were giving this in
front of the class.
Use your own words.
If you use a source, it must be in quotes and be listed in the bibliography. Quotes
should be less than 20% of the word count. Use quotes to bolster what you have
learned when researching the paper. I know that your sources likely know their
stuff; but I am grading you and want to make sure you know it as well.
Make sure to use
speaking notes. Since this is an online course, I have no way of seeing you
present the information, so an outline won't show me what you learned for the
week. Have good and extensive speaking notes are a must.
Cite at least one
reference in addition to Experiencing
the World's Religions.
