HUM 250 Week 2 Assignment Help | Carrington College (US)
Module 2: Signature Assignment: Annotated Bibliography
Introduction
The Signature
Assignment for HUM250 is an analysis of a particular work of art (i.e., a
painting, movie, book, etc.) that connects to your career field. For example,
the film Patch Adams explores
how a doctor uses humor to communicate with and motivate his patients as part
of his healing philosophy. Students need to draw conclusions between art and
make it relevant to their professional lives.
You will need to
complete the Signature Assignment in sections throughout the course.
- Module 1: Brainstorm
a topic for your assignment.
- Module 2: Create
an annotated bibliography.
- Module 3: Create
an outline for your Signature Assignment.
- Module 5: The
final draft is due.
Your Signature
Assignment will consist of a paper on a topic linked to your program of study.
Choose a topic that would be of interest to your future employer. This paper
will be a part of your ePortfolio. Use this as an opportunity to show your
analytical and communication skills which can be highlighted in your
ePortfolio.
Module 2: Annotated
Bibliography (90 Points)
Your annotated
bibliography is a list of citations to books, articles, documents and websites
that you may use to prepare your paper. Each item listed is followed by a short
paragraph describing the item, a determination of why it might be useful to
developing your paper, and an assessment of the quality of the source.
Including an item in your annotated bibliography does not mean you must use
that source in your project. It means only this was an item you reviewed during
your research. The purpose of the annotation is to show a reader the
importance, accuracy, and quality of the sources cited. You will be collecting
a minimum of four sources that come from an academic journal, an article, or a
government website. Each annotation is 1–3 sentences and clearly explains the
source's relevance. Remember to use proper grammar, spelling, punctuation, and
so on.
Sample:
Pooh, W. T. (2017).
Effects of small-unit honey production on climate change. Winne the Pooh Journal of Climate Science,
147(6), 165-175.
This article reviews
effects of honey production by locations operating five hives or fewer. Pooh
argues that although precision measurement shows minute increases in local
temperature ("less than 1° C within five feet of an active hive" [p.
168]), there is not enough heat produced to affect the local climate, nor is
there cumulative effect to contribute substantially to global warming. This
article does not make any reference to larger, industrial honey production.
This article provides good examples as well as expert opinion that I can use in
my project. It contains easy-to-understand figures that may be useful as slides
in my presentation. This will provide me with evidence to support my claims
about the environmental effects of small-unit honey production.
Your annotated
bibliography must be submitted in APA format (see below for details).
- APA format includes the following.
- 1-inch margins
- Double spaced
- 12-point Times New Roman font
- Title page with topic and name of
student
