DB Posting Guidelines 

I note some confusion with DB posting Policy. I try to relieve that confusion for my students.

I provide the DB Posting Guidelines for you in both the Learning Material section and in a DB post in all units. This information synopsizes the AIU MBA DB Posting Policy and identifies the allowances I use.

DB POSTING GUIDELINES:

Rules—

1—All DB posts must be substantive and course-related

2—You must make six posts per unit

3—You must make at least three posts on two separate days each week

4—You must make at least one post before Friday midnight each week

Caveats—

1—All DB Main posts—the posts which answer DB questions—must be 3-4 paragraphs in length to be substantive.

2—All DB Comment posts—the posts which comment on student or faculty posts or course-related posts you originate—must be 2-3 paragraphs in length to be substantive.

3—DB Posting OPTIONS: Option-A) make one DB Main post in either week of the unit, that requires ONE DB Main post and FIVE DB Comment posts; OR Option-B) make one DB Main post in each week of the unit, that requires TWO DB Main posts and FOUR DB Comment posts. Either way, all DB questions must be answered. A second, or more, DB Main posts in either week cannot count toward your six-post DB requirement.

4—Corrected or duplicated posts cannot count twice.

Allowances—

1—If you miss one or more of the THREE posts in the first week, I will allow you to make an additional post for each missed post in the second week and only accrue a late penalty. 

2—You may make more than one DB Main post in either week, but they can only count as ONE post that week. 

BRIEF or VAGUE DB posts will not earn full credit; if they earn credit at all.

Special Note—Option B in Caveat 3 exists because MGT680 DBs contain phrases which refer to ‘Parts’ of the assignment. MGT680 Students will not be penalized for using the ‘Part 1’ and ‘Part 2’ option discussed in all DB Assignment Minimum Weekly DB Expectations; namely, “For DB assignment prompts with a Part One and Part Two, Part One should be addressed in the first week of the unit with a Main Post and minimum of 2 Response Posts, and Part Two should be addressed in the second week of the unit with a Main Post and a minimum of 2 Response Posts.” 

All other MBA courses which do not refer to ‘Parts’ of the DB assignment should post as described in Option A.

Please be aware of these requirements. Not meeting them can result in point deductions from your DB grade. 

Additionally, I provide a DB Query post for your convenience which asks a more common-sense course-content, but optional, question to help you meet your Friday deadlines. The Query is there for you, it can help you meet the Friday posting deadline, but it does not have to be answered, it is optional.
