2.   Read and review Chapter 8, “Using Marketing Channels to Create Value for Customers”, section 9.1, “Sourcing and Procurement,” section 9.2, “Demand Planning and Inventory Control,” section 9.3, “Warehousing and Transportation,” and section 9.4, “Track and Trace Systems and Reverse Logistics,” in Principles of Marketing.

3.   Read and review the following resources:

e.    Web page: Direct vs. Indirect Distribution Channel: What's the Difference?

4.   Navigate to the threaded discussion and respond to the following discussion prompts:

a.    Select a product in your home that you use on a daily basis.

                i.        You may not use a coffee product for your assignment.

b.    Using the Internet, research the steps in its distribution channel.

c.    In your initial post, in full sentences, create a bulleted list of the steps in the distribution channel from raw material to the end consumer.

d.   Place the URLs for the information in your list below the information in the list. You must use a minimum of three URLs for this assignment.

5.   Review the Distribution Channel Sample Posting file for an example of the finished initial post.

6.   Your initial post is due by the end of the fourth day of the workshop.

7.   Read and respond to at least two of your classmates’ postings, as well as all instructor follow-up questions directed to you, by the end of the workshop.

8.   Your postings should also:

a.    Be well developed by providing clear answers with evidence of critical thinking.

b.    Add greater depth to the discussion by introducing new ideas.

c.    Provide clarification to classmates’ questions and insight into the discussion.
