Before submitting, please make sure you have reviewed the Workshop 4.4 Assignment: Religion and History page.

Instructions

1.   Review the rubric to make sure you understand the criteria for earning your grade.

2.   You should have chosen a topic for the Religion and History paper

3.    in 3.6 Discussion: Religion and History Topics Selection.

a.    Each student should have selected a different topic from the list. 

4.   Write a minimum three page paper on your topic (at least 1000-words).

a.    Title page in the correct format.

b.    One paragraph including the thesis or purpose statement, which should

c.    clearly state the purpose of your paper.

                i.        This statement should show how you intend to demonstrate the impact of

               ii.        faith on the event in your topic.

             iii.        Tell why you selected this topic and why it has to do with Religion and History.

             iv.        Refer to the files linked Resources section of this page to see how to organize

              v.        your paper.

d.   Five to eight paragraphs discussing the context or background of your topic,

e.    then its impact on American culture.

                i.        You MUST use citations and a minimum of three sources. 

f.     Sources must be scholarly, academic (articles with references listed) or

g.   peer-reviewed.

h.   A minimum one paragraph conclusion confirming and proving the thesis or

i.     purpose statement.

j.     A reference page with at least three sources (besides the text, but in many

k.    cases, the text will not be a source).

                i.        Do not use Wikipedia as a source at any time. Only one encyclopedia can be

               ii.        used as a source. 

5.   When you have completed your assignment, save a copy for yourself and submit a copy to your instructor using the Assignment submission folder by the end of the workshop.
