What are some useful methods for finding current and relevant
topics? What new methods did you learn about in this course?
b.
Provide three organizations that you would
consider developing for your informative speech in this course. Make sure these
choices are about an "organization that is working to make a difference in
the lives of people in your community or region." IMPORTANT: This is

organizational patterns that could be effective for one of your topics?
(Chapter 11.1)

of the topics you have identified?
3.
Your initial post is due by the end of the fourth day of the
workshop.

Read and respond to at least two of your classmates’ postings,
as well as all follow-up instructor questions directed to you, by the end of
the workshop. In addition to other comments you may have, address the following
in your response posts:
a.
What might be some additional methods for locating informative
speech topics?
b.
Comment on how one of the information topics presented by each
of your classmates could be re-worked for a persuasive speech.

a.
Be well developed by providing clear answers with evidence of
critical thinking.
b.
Add greater depth to the discussion by introducing new ideas.
c.
Provide clarification to classmates’ questions and provide
insight into the discussion.
6.
Begin assessing what topic you want to research for your final
speech project that is due as part of Workshop Four. You will present a
five-minute informative speech. Because this is an online class, you will
arrange your own speaking situation and gather at least five people to be in
your audience. Your speech must be videotaped, and the audience must appear on
the recording at some point.
