Overview:
This assignment is a group activity where you have been placed into one of 5 (five) different groups. Each group will put together a presentation that reflects your aesthetic response to this story. I have provided each group with a shared google doc. On the shared google doc, each of you should add one sentence that expresses an idea that you feel highlights this story.
When you have all completed your one sentence responses on the shared google doc one of you in your group can then post your group's shared google document on the Group Responses discussion forum for "To Build a Fire." I will be checking in with each group to offer help with this assignment.

Assignment
1. Please read the short story: "To Build a Fire" by Jack London and you can also take a look at the presentation Presentation: Asking Questions For Critical Reading of Literature
2. Then consider how the individual in the story could have averted his fate and survived his ordeal and answer the following questions:

o Explain your overall reaction to the story. What three moments in the story impacted you the most? (90 Words)
o What 2 things could the main character have done differently to survive in the cold, snowy wilderness? Please list them and offer an explanation of them in (140 Words) (There should be no mention of Cell Phones, GPS, Radar, or any other present day technology.)
o Group Activity/Presentation: For this assignment in addition to posting your response to our discussion questions here in your group forum, your group has also been given a shared google doc for each of you to contribute a one sentence idea from another student in your group that you feel highlights this story.
o When your group has completed all of their one sentence points, please share your group presentation with your class mates on the forum: MODULE 3/FORUM FOR GROUP RESPONSES TO "To Build A Fire," By Jack London
