CDMA  Week 3 Discussion | Tulane University

Did you know that you can connect yourself to influential people through only six degrees of relationships? It has been proven that any two people in the world can be connected by a maximum of six steps (i.e., six other people). How does this fact impact you? It means that you are six or fewer connections away from getting in touch with the president, someone influential in your field, and more!

Create your initial post:

1.    Post the URL to your LinkedIn profile.**

2.    Connect with students in your class and those whom you know (Add Connections).

3.    Examine your peers’ connections. See who they know and if there is anyone you might be interested in connecting with from their lists.

**If you do not yet have a LinkedIn profile, you will need to create a basic one.

1.

1.    Go to LinkedIn: Log In or Sign Up (Links to an external site.).

2.    Click Join now.

3.    Put in your email address and a password and click Agree & Join.

4.    Follow the prompts to set up a basic account.

5.    We will revisit your LinkedIn profile in Module 5.7 and you will improve it at that time.

Provide feedback:

Respond to at least two of your peers’ initial posts. Reflect on your experience of connecting with peers and identifying people with whom you would like to connect. Were you surprised by any of the connections? Did you learn anything new about your peers in the process?
