Overview

During the course, a significant number of topics were introduced related to HRM analytics, the metrics of work, and the important decision making needed in HRM. There are many areas of HR that are mature and there are other areas still evolving, including the topics of this course. A great deal of the processes, theory, tools, and related research is very new. Some contributions are coming from business analytics and workforce development, while other contributions are coming from social science research methods. The knowledge garnered from this course has several intentions, including building your skills as an HRM practitioner that can work in complex settings with different kinds of data, working with and getting the greatest value out of an organization's HRIS, and operational and strategic decision making.

Assignment Instructions

Review the graphic and numerical data in the "Employment, Hours, and Earnings From the Current Employment Statistics Survey (National)" on BSL Data Viewer Web page and complete the following:

Assess how the numerical data is presented in the graphic. You may use the data as presented or feel free to manipulate the year selection Start or End. Also you may pick any “Net Monthly Changes” and “Percent Monthly Changes”.  Consider the graphic design format and content as present either with or without changes.

Analyze how the graphic could be redesigned to more effectively portray the information. Please represent the data using a table in a PowerPoint presentation.

Analyze how the data could be used to support wage administration goals for an organization.
