Instructions

The purpose of this assignment is to prepare you as future APRNs to communicate your professional role and clarify the difference between APRNs and other advanced practice healthcare providers. Once you have presented this, you will work on making this more concise and compelling since you will be asked these questions in your new role.

Using Screencast-O-Matic, Zoom, or YouTube, create a video that is three to five minutes in length and answers the following questions:

  1. What is a Nurse Practitioner?
  2. How does a Nurse Practitioner differ from a Physician Assistant?
  3. How does a Nurse Practitioner differ from a Physician?
  4. Why don’t you just become a physician?

If you have never recorded a presentation, Screencast-O-Matic is a free, easy-to-use tool recommended for this purpose. Instructional videos on how to use Screencast-O-Matic are available at Screencast-O-Matic Help Videos.

After your recording is complete, follow these instructions to create an unlisted YouTube video. You will need the YouTube video URL for this assignment. The best way to submit your YouTube video URL is to copy and paste the hyperlink URL for the YouTube video into a Word document and submit this to the Assignment Dropbox. Your faculty will access your video via the link. Do not upload a video file (mp4).

For references, if you have created a PowerPoint for your presentation, please add your references on the last slide. If you have chosen not to create a PPT, then you may add your references to the Word document that contains your YouTube video URL. Please make sure that you adhere to current APA guidelines and submit at least three scholarly references per the Grading Rubric.

Please refer to the Grading Rubric for details on how this activity will be graded.
