Analysis of Fire Alarm and Detection Systems

There are countless variations of fire alarm and detection systems throughout communities and jurisdictions. For this assignment, pick an occupancy with a fire alarm and detection system in your jurisdiction or community, and provide a detailed analysis of each component of the system.

Your analysis should include the following.

 Identify the occupancy you selected.

 Explain the system’s function, which includes the fire alarm panel, the different kinds of detectors that are used (heat, smoke, UV, IR, etc.), and the kinds of notification devices used (visual, audible devices, etc,).

 Discuss how the system interconnects with other components (such as smoke barriers, fire doors, elevators, and/or smoke control systems) to provide complete protection.

 Lastly, include at least two pictures of the components to support your analysis.

Your paper should be at least three pages in length (which does not count the pictures). Your paper should include a minimum of two resources. Adhere to APA Style when constructing this assignment, including a title page and in-text citations and references for all sources that are used.
