Name: Diabetes IoT Checkup: Infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS)
Executive Summary
Diabetes is a condition in which the human body does not either produce
or stop responding to insulin effectively. Diabetes Type-I is regarded when the
liver stops producing the insulin whereas the type-II occur when liver cells
stop responding to insulin. However, the disorder is prevailing commonly.
Therefore, viewing the prevalence of the disorder, it comes under a significant
use that the patient with diabetes must have regular check-up and monitoring.
So, the business proposal designs the diabetes IoT check-up plan with the
infrastructure as a service (IaaS).
Problem Statement
The diabetes regular check-up and monitoring should be redefined with
the use of technology to aim to provide effective check-up to diabetes patient
unable to visit hospitals (like elderly ones) with the use of IaaS, one of IoT
tool.
Problem Solution
An online set-up will be structured. The main bodies will be data centre
servers, multi-cloud infrastructure, service provider, end users and
applicants. They will collaborate in such a pattern that the backend will be
supported with public and private cloud and service providers (IT experts and
medical care support), which will deliver the on-demand customer services.
Features of the Program
Ø It will link to the analytics
platform for monitoring of health data periodically
Ø It will create alternative
programmed alarm to alert them in spike or trough in glucose level
Ø The monitoring device stays
connected with the healthcare professionals’ database
Setup
There will be a sensor app on the device of patients, which sends the
glucose reading via Bluetooth to the platform’s phone. The platform’s device
decomplile the patient’s signal and add Java Shipper to send out logs. Then,
these logs will be displayed on screen as in figure 1. Hence, the periodical
reports will stay updated.

Average Spend
The average spend on the IaaS of diabetes IoT Check-up would be costing
around $10,000 to $ 15,000.
Likely Cost to Implement
In case of in-house manufacturing and development of IaaS, the likely
cost of implementation would be 370 USD and if the materials and resources are
outsourced, then they can increase upto 1,000 USD.
Summary
Diabetes is a condition in which
requires constant checking and monitoring. For this need, the use of technology
including IoT and IaaS would aim to provide effective check-up to diabetes
patient unable to visit hospitals. This will help in will delivering the
on-demand medical services.
