Prior to beginning work on this discussion forum, read Chapter 12 from the course textbook and the weekly lecture.

In your discussion post,

·         Define what is meant by strategy.

·         Evaluate the goal of strategic development.

·         Assess why strategic planning is important for all organizations.

o    Explain the elements of a typical strategic planning process.

·         Finally, review the seven management planning tools that are particularly useful in structuring unstructured ideas, making strategic plans, and organizing and controlling large, complex projects.

·         Apply one of the tools to a project you have been involved in or know of in your organization, or an organization of your choice. Be sure to explain how the tool benefits all employees involved in a quality planning and implementation.

Guided Response: Respond to at least two of your fellow students’ posts in a substantive manner, and provide recommendations to extend their thinking. Support your position by using information from the week’s readings, examples from current events, and/or other scholarly or credible resources.
