Prior to beginning work on this discussion forum, read Chapter 10 from the course textbook and the weekly lecture. 

This Systems Perspective of the Baldrige Performance Excellence Framework shows that the Organizational Profile sets the context for your organization. It serves as the background for all you do. The basis of the Organizational Profile is a set of Core Values and Concepts that are embedded in high-performing organization. The organizational profile is an integration of:  The system foundation (Measurement, Analysis, and Knowledge Management), which is critical to effective management and to a fact-based, knowledge-driven, agile system for improving performance and competitiveness; The leadership triad (Leadership, Strategy, and Customers), which emphasizes the importance of a leadership focus on strategy and customers; and The results triad (Workforce, Operations, and Results), which includes your workforce-focused processes, your key operational processes, and the performance results they yield.  All actions lead to Results - a composite of product and process, customer-focused, workforce-focused, leadership and governance, and financial and market results.

·         Discuss the purpose of the Baldrige Award.

o    Describe the Baldrige Award process. How does it ensure that organizations are truly worthy of receiving the award?

·         Explain the Baldrige core values and concepts.

o    What are the five groups of results measures in the Malcom Baldrige Criteria? Provide two examples of measurements and indicators in each group. Why do you think they are important for any organization to pursue?

·         Please choose two of the Baldrige core values, and apply them to an organization of your choice.

o    How do these two values impact the organization and increase performance?

·         Regarding the Baldrige Criteria for Performance Excellence, on which a Baldrige examination is based, please provide a brief description of each of the seven categories, and explain how they all come together and form an integrated management system.
