HCA 315 Week 4 Discussion 2 | Southwestern College
Prompt:
Healthcare reform is complicated and challenging for
policymakers at, both, federal and state levels. We, "the
people" demand changes to the current system, but are often
overwhelmed by the role that government takes on and intercedes in regards
to costs within the reform. The perception is that when there is governmental
intervention-all efficiencies go out the door. The federal reform history has
established employer and individual mandates as well as "single-payer and
market-based reform models."
Please note that most proposals do not make it to the table so
they do not have the opportunity to come to fruition. So-were there
viable plans that were lost in the political ploys and hostilities of parties
and favoritism? However, one proposal made it into the legions of
polices, i.e. the Affordable Care Act and is currently "folding into
the fabric" of the United States' healthcare economy.
