construction you see in your local area or jurisdiction. One should expect that
new construction or renovated buildings are relatively safer than older
buildings, as they are required to meet current building and fire codes. Nonetheless,
they still pose hazards that can affect firefighter safety.
Briefly describe a newer building
or structure (may be either new or renovated construction) in your area that
you feel poses the greatest hazard to firefighter safety during a fire incident.
Tip: Think of that one building or type of building for which you dread getting
an alarm. Identify and explain your specific concerns.
Be sure you address whether your
concerns are based on the construction type itself or a lack of training or
resources in the department for that specific type of construction.
