In this discussion, you have the option to post the introductory paragraph for the week 7 final project. The introduction to your week 7 final project serves a number of purposes that help set the scene for the remainder of your paper.

1.  First, it should get the reader's attention. There should be something that will make us want to read further.

2.  Second, it should move the reader into your paper. For example, you might start with a generalization that captures the interest of your reader, then introduce the topic you will be discussing. The introduction should limit your essay by moving from a general discussion of the subject to the specific thesis that your paper wishes to illustrate.

3.  Finally, state your thesis before moving to the body paragraphs that illustrate it. After we have read the introduction, we should have a clear idea of what will be argued in the paper and should be able to orient ourselves to your point of view. It's always a good idea to go back to the introduction once you've finished your paper to make sure that you've accomplished all that you set out to do and, if needed, revise accordingly.
