Discussion Topic #1 - In Managing Quality:
Integrating the Supply Chain, Ch. 15 you learned about the different types
of audits. Define the different types of audits. Pick a company and define
which type would be best for it. Support your answer.
Discussion Topic #2 - This is the right time
in the course to discuss the impact that Quality has on the Characteristics of
a World Class Supply Chain.
There is no consensus on a single set of characteristics, but I
have compiled this list over time from many sources.
A World Class Supply Chain will:
a. Focus on the customer
b. Recognize quality as a
holistic principle
c. Improve asset efficiency
d. Treat suppliers as
partners not adversaries
e. Encourage continuous
process improvement
f. Maintain
open communications throughout the chain
g. Support human empowerment
as a key component

performance measurements as a primary management tool

identified by Deming, Juran, Crosby and other ‘Fathers of Quality Theory’ you
