Discussion Topic #1 - Trust has been identified as a very important attribute for leaders who are initiating quality improvement efforts. Why do you believe trust is such an important attribute? 

Discussion Topic #2 - In Week 1 we learned in that Deming and Crosby each had specific ideas about the cost of quality. 

Crosby’s mantas were:

1.      Quality is Free

2.      Zero Defects

3.      Do it Right the first time

Deming told us to:

1.      End the practice of awarding business based on the price tag” and instead, minimize total cost by working with a single supplier. [What did he mean by ‘total cost’?].

2.      Cease dependence on inspection to achieve quality. [The implication here is that quality can’t be achieved by just inspecting everything after it has been produced.

How do these ideas relate to the many ‘cost’ discussions to be found in the Chapter 4 reading?
