Instructions:

Throughout this course we have examined professional nursing and clinical practice competencies using standards of professional nursing organizations. Two of the recommendations from the IOM (2010): The Future of Nursing: Leading Change, Advancing Health report are:

·         Ensure that nurses engage in lifelong learning

·         Prepare and enable nurses to lead change to advance health

Using what you have learned from your course readings and assignments, think about your career trajectory and the characteristics you would desire in a mentor to assist you in your ongoing career development. List these characteristics and describe how you already have, or would, identify and request the assistance of a mentor.
