MATH 330 Week 8 Assignment Help | american-public-university-system
Assignment:
Submit a written assignment based on one of the topics covered in the
course.
For instance, you may want to select a problem that requires the use of
the simplex method and a detailed sensitivity analysis based on your
findings to determine the most optimal solution to the problem.
Use the proper references and APA formatting. You will want a
title page and reference page and about 2-4 pages of content that may be
double spaced (4-6 pages total). You can include illustrations, but they
are not required. An introduction and conclusion should be provided.
Do the math and show your work as you explain the details of your
solution. You may have a work situation that is similar to those described
in some of the problems in your textbook. You are encouraged to find a
project that is relevant for you.
Written Report:
Your report may be
submitted as a Word or PDF file. The report will be at most 6 pages, of
which 4 contain content and 2 are for the title and reference pages. The first
page, the title page, will include your name and course number.
The following guidelines
will help you produce an acceptable report:
You may choose to
use some or all of these sections in the report:
1.Describe your
objective for the problem under investigation. What is/are the outcome
variable/s you are investigating; how are they measured?
2.Outline the
factors that you expect will influence the outcome variable. How will you
measure the factors, over what range will you vary them? State how you expect
each factor to affect the solution.
3.Analyze the
experimental results using the tools introduced in the course (sensitivity
analysis).
4.The conclusions,
related back to your original objectives. What would be the next step in your
process if this were an actual problem?
a.
Place clearly drawn illustrations in the report next to the text that
describes, or refers to the figure.
b.
Optionally place any source code in the appendix (if you use a computer
to generate alternatives). I will generally assume you know how to analyze the
data, so I don't have to see code. However, the code may be helpful, if your
description in the report is unclear, or if I have doubts when grading the
report.
c.
You should hand-in a single page outlining the project you plan to
complete using the following bullet points (due at the end of the first
week of class):
a.
Describe your project. Tell me why you are interested.
b.
What is your objective? You should describe it clearly and
describe how you are going to measure it.
c.
What are all variables that can influence your objective?
d.
Which variables are you going to vary?
e.
Which variables are you going to keep fixed in your experiments?
