1.         Recall a work task, hobby, or other activity that you perform regularly.

2.         In a Word document, name the activity and list sequentially the actions you do to complete the activity.

3.         Describe the main differences between doing your activity as you perform it regularly and any variations to those steps you would make to improve your activity.

4.         Reflect on the complexity of your list and the number of steps needed to complete the activity:

o          Did variation affect your activity?

o          If so, did the variation cause your activity to be easier or more difficult?

2.         Write down the steps and measure the time you take to complete each step.

3.         Reflect on your first attempt to review if you wasted time or can improve the steps.

4.         Complete your second attempt, write down your steps and measure the time again.

5.         Did you improve the time? Eliminated steps?

6.         Calculate your data average and standard deviation for each attempt and compare the calculations to analyze if the standard deviation increased or decreased.
