6 paged essay on the short story "Up in Michigan". The the essay's main topic is about how women face double standards and how that relates to the short story. The three points that the thesis should contain are: women face double standards, many women have to face social consequences after sex (especially in rural and religious towns) and women should not fear saying "yes". My main view of the story is " As a young women in 1920s Michigan, Liz struggles with both the desire to fulfill her sexual fantasies with Jim and the fear of the social consequences that follow is any action is taken upon". The Intro paragraph must contain 5 current real life events relating to women and double standards, for example the "Yes Means Yes" movement. The thesis should contain 3 main points and can come at the end of the intro paragraph. (So the intro paragraph explains the issue of women and introduces the short story at the very end of the intro paragraph). The body must contain an analysis of the short story , claims, and an example (mainly from the short story or online source.) for every claim in each body paragraph. There must be at least 5 examples for every claim in each body paragraph. (3 claims, 1 claim per paragraph. 5 examples per paragraph) The essay must contain 2 academic researches with quotes in the form of sentence summary from the website http://www.mvc.edu/library/ search in "articles".
