Create your first Illustrator® design project by creating a simple graphic symbol icon of your choice for the web (such as a home or search icon) by using color and shapes. Practice using effective design principles as shared in the Introduction to Graphic Design with Justin Seeley Lynda.com® videos. Submit your Adobe® Illustrator® (.ai) file for grading to the Assignment Files tab.

WEEK  2

VCT 251 Week 1 Individual Assignment Animal Creation 

Instructions: Review Lessons 4, 5, and 6 of Adobe® Illustrator® CC™ Digital Classroom. Create a drawing of an animal of your choice by using the drawing or Image Trace tools. Apply a gradient to the background and add color to your animal. Use shapes, colors tools, and design elements as appropriate to create an effective design. Based on what you have learned from your Learning Team Collaborative Discussion this week and Lynda.com® videos, apply effective design guidelines to your assignment. Submit your Adobe® Illustrator® (.ai) file for grading to the Assignment Files tab.

WEEK  3

WEEK  4

VCT 251 Week 4 Individual Assignment Company Logo

Instructions: Review Lessons 10 and 11 of Adobe® Illustrator® CC™ Digital Classroom. Create a visually appealing logo for an imaginary company using symbols and effects. Write a one-page paper to discuss how you used symbols and effects within your project. Practice using effective design principles as learned in previous weeks. Submit your Adobe® Illustrator® (.ai) file for grading to the Assignment Files tab.

WEEK  5

VCT 251 Week 5 Individual Assignment Art Exhibit Poster

Instructions: Review Lessons 12, 13, and 14 of Adobe® Illustrator® CC™ Digital Classroom. Create a visually appealing poster for print to advertise for an imaginary art exhibit. The poster must contain a combination of elements discussed in this course; including shapes, patterns or gradients, text, symbols, effects, color, and blending. Ensure that effective design principles are applied to your work. Practice using effective design principles as learned in previous weeks. Write a blog post for your audience using Microsoft® Word describing the design and tools that were used to create your poster in Illustrator®. Include how you used each of the required elements in your design. Submit your Adobe® Illustrator® (.ai) file and your blog post document for grading to the Assignment Files tab.
