I have a doctorate in finance, and currently teach as finance faculty at Florida State University (Tallahassee, Florida) and play (sailing and other fun things) the rest of my time…
I’m semi-retired (Since 2004…I was 55) and have had an investment management practice in Ft. Lauderdale for a number of years where I had a financial radio show (one hour a day, five days a week for about 5 years) and some ½ hour television shows as well.  My specialty was working with high net worth individuals and small businesses.  I still hold an NASD principals license, as well as commodity licenses.
Prior to my investment management practice, I spent a number of years on an institutional trading desk (fixed income…bonds) and a round lot was 1 million.  Clients were corporations, banks, etc (no individuals) and minimum asset size for a client was $750 million.  This was a fast track, with direct lines to the CBOT and information came in like a fire hose.
I’ve owned a mortgage and title company in the past, have dabbled with owning apartment buildings, and generally been involved in finance and investments most of my adult life…
